Everybody has an idea or dream about his or her DREAM HOME. One  dream house is once in a lifetime opportunity and lots of hope,money, saving, patient are on stake.many people who can afford, hired architecture, home designer ,but many people can't and many afraid that they (architecture) may not be able to deliver their dream into reality which is true in many occasion.so i am here to help to to design your Dream Home.yes read that right you can design your home.In this article you will learn to design your own home.
   Now you're thinking how you can design a civil engineering structure while you don't have any knowledge of civil engineering. I shall tell you the key factor which makes durable home that would last long enough to spend your life and beyond.


    Here are the key factor which you should keep in your mind before making your dream house a reality.

1. SECURITY :  We build house to keep our family safe from cold, unwanted attack of wild animals and other which I'll discuss later.
                              In ancient age our ancestors took shelter in cave for the above cause but today's situation are far more greater than ever.
      Now we don't have fear of wild animals attacks but far monstrous.
    Now we have to save our home from earthquakes,floods,Storm, thieves.


1.1; Earthquake:   we all know what  a earthquake is? when two or more always moving(too slow to to consider but if they clashed they can create havoc) Geo-plate deep under the earth surface clashed with each other an energy release sudden energy that called seismic wave.this seismic wave come on upper surface the earth and shake every structure on earth surface.
     there some zone which shows the intensity level of earthquake this zones are called seismic zones.
first find seismic zone of the place where you wanna build your home.you can find your seismic zone by clicking the link => seismic hazard maps of the world . most of the people live in safe zone and who ever reading this blog doesn't want to make sky-scraper for their accommodation.

   wherever you  live seismic zone doesn't count for one or two  storeyed building. though  you only gonna make two storyed  building you will minimal essential security.

   Create a flexible foundation;  to resist ground forces is to lift the building base foundation above the earth.this involves constructing building on top of flexible pad made of steel, rubber, and lead.
  when seismic wave heat earth surface the  iso-lators move but the building remain steady.

  1.2 floods; to keep your house you have ask yourself is your area flood prone area. if not then scroll down to next point . if yes then you might observe the water level in flood time. just make your house above that line.see the image below

  1.3 thief/ burglary; to keep safe your from thief you have to make your house outer wall little thick about 10 inch or more and make doors and windows of still .in your absence in that house thief might get hard to break . still doors and windows are tough to break in.

2. symmetry ;  you should design your home in symmetrical design as symmetry look is eye-pleasing.

    it also strengthen building as it provide equal space for column.  

    for few people curiosity may what is symmetry? Symmetry in everyday language refers to a sense of harmonious and beautiful proportion and balance.  

draw an imaginary vertical line about the center of the house you will see both left and right face are same.

3.Spacious;  while you design home keep in mind what kind of furniture you will keep in your house.design your house how much space your furniture will occupy cause nobody like house full of furniture.follow 60-40 rule for space and furniture.it will your house more beautiful in hall room keep less than 40% floor for furniture and keep the rest for space.and for bedroom just do the opposite of the hall room.

4. Minimalist ; design your in minimalist as land price are increasing day by day it is better to use every space of your house.and minimalist design your house more neat and clean straight look to your house.to give a minimalist look to your house avoid unnecessary arc , ceiling design make it simple. simple looks are cheaper and premium and long lasting.

5. Column ; columns are the main thing after the base foundation. it gives stability to your house . put  columns in equal interval that will give balance and support to the ceiling. each pillar column size about 10"*10" . In below drawing by my friend Sona Majee who is professional house planner.

6. Vastu; vastu is not necessary for house design if you are not religious.it is actually its a spiritual thing.people who believe in vastu they believe it keep peace in house.
   vastu shastra is spiritual  model to design to build house, temple or other building.it maintain peace in house and keep good health for everybody in home.though it is spiritual thing but it has scientific reason.you want to follow vastu follow the below diagram.
